Marble mining in Rajsamand District has significant environmental implications, including deforestation, groundwater depletion, air pollution, water pollution, loss of biodiversity, and habitat destruction. This study assesses the extent of environmental degradation caused by mining activities and examines the key challenges in effective environmental management. A survey of 450 respondents, including industry professionals, environmental regulators, government officials, researchers, and local community members, provided insights into the major concerns associated with marble mining. The findings indicate that inadequate enforcement of environmental regulations, limited community engagement, financial constraints, and technical challenges significantly hinder effective environmental management. One-sample t-test results confirmed that these factors have a statistically significant impact, leading to ineffective mitigation efforts. The study highlights the urgent need for stricter regulatory frameworks, improved financial and technical support, and enhanced stakeholder collaboration to promote sustainable mining practices. Addressing these challenges is crucial for minimizing environmental damage and ensuring long-term ecological balance in marble mining regions.
